About Us
Established in 2014 RAMESA Nursery, our family run business is located in Queensland’s South Burnett region just north of Kingaroy. Our working farm gradually developed from growing plants for markets, production growing for farmers and other retail nurseries to us now sharing, enjoying and welcoming people 5 days a week to our own ever evolving Ramesa Nursery.
We have transformed part of our rural property into a retail garden centre and picnic gardens. Proudly our motto “With the Gardener in Mind” reflects our aim to give access to healthy plants, helpful advice and affordable prices. Each fortnight Romaine writes for her Garden Column “Burnett in Bloom” for the Burnett Today newspaper and is also available to visit school groups and Kindergartens with topics to inspire young gardeners.
Our nursery offers an extensive range of herb and vegetable seedlings, flowering perennials, shrubs and hedging plants, vines, grasses, succulents, fruit trees, shade trees, natives and bush tucker plants. Alongside our plants are handcrafted pots, kokedama, baskets and birdbaths made by Romaine from the property’s own red soil.
Community engagement is at the heart of RAMESA Nursery. We regularly host visiting Garden Clubs and run Creative Workshops. Workshop topics include: kokedama, terrariums, decorated vases, clay creations, painting, collage and basketweaving. These workshops currently held elsewhere will soon be available in the Ramesa Nursery Workshop Space/Art Gallery and “A Maze n Coffee” new building. For Garden Clubs and Community Groups, we also offer presentations on topics like: Butterfly attracting plants, Frost and dry hardy plants, Container growing, Unusual herbs, Home irrigation, Hedging and edging plants and Propagation techniques. These topics reflect our passion for sharing knowledge and inspiring others to connect with nature.
Above all, RAMESA Nursery is about people and their love for gardening. Whether you visit us to pick up herbs for the kitchen, trees for your orchard, learn to make kokedama or to chat about native plants, you’ll find us ready to help you. Our nursery is open Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 9 am to 5 pm and we welcome visitors to stroll through our gardens, enjoy a picnic and experience our upcoming maze. We hope you enjoy your visit.
Kind regards,
Peter and Romaine
